Professor Haijin Mou received bachelor degree in 1993 at Shandong University, China, and obtained his PhD degree in 2003 at Ocean University of China. From 2005 to 2006, he engaged in postdoctoral research in Reading University, UK. At the moment, he is the professor and head of Lab of Marine Microbial Engineering, College of Food Science & Engineering, Ocean University of China. He is leading a research group including 2 professors, 1 lecture, 1 postdoctoral researcher, and 22 doctoral and master students.

He was awarded as New Century Outstanding Talents of Ministry of Education. By now, he received more than twenty scientific research and teaching awards. “Research on Seaweed Polysaccharides Resources Biotransformation Engineering Techniques” won the 2016 National Marine Science and Technology Prize. He has been in charge of more than twenty research projects, including four times of National Natural Science Funds, and has published more than 160 papers and was authorized 22 invention patents. He published a book “Marine Microorganisms Engineering” as editor in chief, and co-published four other books.
