Tropical Phyconomy Coalition Development – 1

This workshop seeks to address some prevalent issues in eucheumatoid phyconomy with a bottom up approach of basic biology, reproduction and methods of production. We are most grateful to the GENIALG project (https://genialgproject.eu/) and Dr Philippe Potin for making funding available. 

The host for this meeting will be Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), Makassar  and the local organiser is Dr Abigail Moore.

The workshop comprises 30 talks (approximately 20-25mins long) from some of the world’s leading authorities in taxonomy, biology, production and disease management and utilization.

It is intended that the workshop spearheads collaborative developments between like-minded scientist from regions of mass production and their local centres of excellence with others distributed around the world.  The workshop also strives to bring together funding agencies, Research labs and Industries to  build connections and discover ways to collaborate together to advance tropical marine phyconomy. 

The workshop comprises recorded presentations which will be available online via a dedicated YouTube Channel from 28^th May 2021.

There will be moderated Q and A sessions on two afternoons (7th and 8th July 2021).
